The Test Technology Development Team at the Immendingen proving ground is working on developing new methods for testing vehicle functions. The team's focus is on innovations related to automated vehicles. The goal is to provide future-oriented and efficient testing methods and to create a link between digital and physical testing.
Your tasks include:
- Creation of uncertain sensor models (LiDAR, radar) under defined weather conditions in cooperation with a partner
- Creating environmental models for different weather conditions
- Validation of sensor and environmental models in virtual and cyber-physical simulation environments in comparison with real test site trials
- Support in the development of simulation methods for testing automated driving systems in joint projects with other scientists
The promotion can begin from October 2025.

Requirements
- The prerequisite for employment is that the doctoral project is supervised by a university lecturer
- Completed master's degree in engineering, computer science or a comparable discipline
- Fluent written and spoken German and English skills
- Confident use of MS Office
- Analytical, systematic working method
- High degree of initiative and curiosity
- Experience in ADAS simulation
- Technical understanding of sensor technology for automated driving systems
- Desirable: Knowledge of validating sensor models
- Desirable: Experience in environmental simulation
