The CCU Translational Immunology, headed by Prof. Dr. Helmut Salih, focuses on research in the field of tumor immunology with the ultimate goal to develop novel immunotherapeutic strategies until the stage of clinical evaluation. Current projects focus on the development and preclinical characterization of novel advanced antibody constructs for the treatment of malignancies, with an emphasis on mobilization of T cells.
Tasks
- Conduct molecular biology techniques (eg, cloning, PCR, gel electrophoresis)
- Produce and characterize novel antibody constructs using cell culture-based methods
- Perform functional in vitro assays (eg, flow cytometry, ELISA, multiplex assays) to assess the efficacy and safety of antibody constructs, focusing on T cell activation, proliferation as well as tumor cell lysis
- Carry out in vivo studies in xenogeneic and syngeneic mouse models to evaluate the efficacy and safety of therapeutic antibodies
