Interview Dates and Process

The scholarships are awarded on the basis of a ranking which is formed for each subject area on the basis of the application documents. The evaluation is divided into three categories: Academic Achievement, Commitment and Family Background. The individual criteria flow into the overall evaluation with different percentage weightings depending on the scholarship programme.

Academic Performance

  • The assessment of the academic performance is based on the credit points achieved so far and the preliminary interim grade from the submitted Transcript of Records. If no Transcript of Records is available for the current degree programme, grades and credit points are taken from the previous degree programme.
  • In the case of the Lore Auerbach Scholarship50% of the academic achievements are included in the overall evaluation.

Commitment

  • The commitment is assessed on the basis of the documents submitted with the application (CV, letter of motivation, certificates, etc.).
  • In the case of the Lore Auerbach Scholarship, 40% of the overall evaluation is based on commitment.

Family Background

  • In the case of family background, special social, family or personal circumstances are taken into account, which result, for example, from a non-academic household or a migration background.
  • In the case of the  Lore Auerbach Scholarship, the family background is taken into account with 10% each in the overall evaluation.
