University of Freiburg Training to become a physiotherapist 2025

Would you like to learn a profession that helps people improve their quality of life? Then join our team as a physiotherapy trainee at the University Medical Center Freiburg, Academy for Medical Professions, Freiburg Physiotherapy School! We offer two training sessions per year, starting on April 1st and October 1st.

For the start of training:

• by 1 April Application period from 1 July to 31 August of the previous year
• by 1 October Application period from 1 January to 28 February of the current year

The job profile of a physiotherapist (m/f/d) is interesting and diverse. A solid medical background and the acquisition of various therapeutic treatment techniques are the foundation for a successful start in the profession. This requires professional competence and patient-centered communication skills, as well as integration into an interdisciplinary treatment team. With innovative and holistic approaches, we optimally prepare our trainees for future professional challenges.

Requirements

We are looking for motivated applicants who meet the following requirements:

• Abitur, Mittlere Reife or another equivalent school qualification
• If you have a foreign school leaving certificate, please provide confirmation of equivalence (have your final grades translated and confirmed by the Stuttgart Regional Council)
• German language level B2
• Interest in medical and health topics
• Empathy and teamwork
• Joy of movement 
• the tendency to help, motivate and guide other people
• Interest in anatomy and functional processes of the body
• the willingness to continually update your knowledge
• Ideally, proof of completed internship in nursing (not mandatory for the application process, but a prerequisite for employment)
