Description

A postdoctoral research position is available in the Applied Theoretical Physics group of Prof. Joachim Dzubiella (https://www.compmat.uni-freiburg.de/).

The candidate is expected to develop, conduct, and analyze statistical physics and reaction-diffusion theoretical as well as simulation approaches to model active mixtures of response colloids, closely linked with experiments of our collaboration partners.

Requirements

• Applicants should have a master’s degree and PhD/Dr. in theoretical physics, and
• Experience in coarse-grained simulations of complex liquids and the statistics mechanics of classical interacting many-body systems.
• Qualified candidates must demonstrate excellent spoken and written English skills, programming and scripting skills, such as Python, C/C++.
• Outstanding commitment, and interest in interdisciplinary and independent scientific work.

The position has a planned start in October, 2025 and is at first limited to 2 years.
