GIZ Internship in Religion, Sustainable Development and AI-Powered Knowledge Management 2027

GIZ is offering an internship for graduates interested in exploring how religious organisations contribute to sustainable development and how AI can make valuable development knowledge easier to access.

Based in Germany, the intern will support GIZ’s Religion and Sustainable Development project, which advises the German government on collaborating with religious actors worldwide. Tasks include researching faith-based contributions to development, supporting international partnerships, creating communication materials and helping develop an AI-powered knowledge hub for sharing expertise and practical insights.

Benefits

• The monthly intern salary is €2,349 (gross).

Requirements

Required criteria 

• Completed BA or MA degree in political science, social sciences, journalism, public relations, communication or related fields of study (degree not older than 6 months),
• demonstrably very good German and English skills and experience in public relations,
• a strong understanding of office software, digital media and virtual conferencing tools, as well as a very confident handling of AI tools,
• Enjoyment of learning about new and complex topics and trying out new technologies,
• team- and solution-oriented, self-reliant, coupled with intercultural and social competence

Desirable criteria

• Willingness to undertake potentially necessary (inter)national business trips
• Prior knowledge in the field of international cooperation
