The Laboratory for MEMS Applications is seeking an PhD student / Postdoc (m/f/d) for Embedded Systems for environmental sensor.
Your Tasks
- Conduct research in collaborative projects with scientific and industry partners, and regulatory bodies
- Design and build temperature driven test rigs for microfluidic automation
- Perform layout and simulation of lab-on-a-chip systems for environmental sensors
- Execute laboratory experiments to validate the functionality and efficiency in real-world applications
- Develop embedded firmware and control algorithms for microfluidic automation systems
- Design and optimize PCB layouts for embedded systems used in lab-on-a-chip applications
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for environmental sensors
- Present and discuss your research findings at international conferences and with industry stakeholders

Requirements
- A Master's or equivalent degree in engineering, embedded systems engineering, or a related field
- A strong interest in interdisciplinary work, particularly at the interface of microfluidics and engineering
- A creative, proactive, and team-oriented mindset
- High proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Experience with CAD software (eg SolidWorks), simulation tools (eg Matlab) or PCB design software is a plus
