The Konrad Adenauer Synergy Research Project „Rethinking Global Governance and Human Security: What lessons can we learn from the pivotal decade of the 1990s?“ at the Cologne Center for Advanced Studies in International History and Law (CHL), in collaboration with Nuffield College/Oxford University, concentrates on investigating the pivotal character of the 1990s for the mobilisation of the international system.

Requirements

• Hold or be close to completion of a PhD/DPhil in modern history or international history.
• Research experience and expertise that fit with the broader research agenda.
• Ability and willingness to engage with the logistics of organizing workshops and conferences with a diverse range of participants from the academic and public policy world, nationally and internationally.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (English).
• Excellent organisational skills, flexibility and responsiveness, the ability to prioritise workload, and to meet deadlines.
• Exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to work constructively and effectively both as part of a small research team and under own initiative.
