The overall aim of our research is to study and elucidate the biological processes of cancer and investigating the molecular adaptation of cancer to therapeutic responses in head and neck cancer. The research fellow will be supervised by Dr. Marcel Mayer and Prof. Dr. Jens Peter Klußmann, and will be embedded in the group for Molecular Head and Neck Oncology (Head: Prof. Dr. Julie George).
Your tasks:
- In vitro and in vivo experiments on previously established preclinical SDC models
- Establishment of a library of additional SDC cell lines and patient-derived xenografts reflecting biologically relevant alterations
- Performance of well-established assays in our laboratory (e.g., in vitro drug assays, in vivo drug efficacy experiments, vectorbased gene editing, western blot, PCR, preparation of samples for genomic and transcriptomic sequencing analyses)

Requirements
- Excellent MSc degree in biology, biotechnology, or a related field
- Strong interest in translational research in head and neck oncology
- Expertise in the following fields: Cell culture, vector-based gene editing, western blot, in vivo mouse work, ideally bioinformatic basic skills
- Applicants should be highly motivated, independent, and have strong communication skills
