University of Augsburg PhD Scholarship in Environmental Economics 2026

The interdisciplinary research group investigates ways to create resilient urban neighborhoods that combine ecological change and social justice. The group consists of two postdocs and four doctoral students from various disciplines. The environmental economic PhD and postdoc positions focus on quantitative empirical economic research. The position is based at the Centre for Climate Resilience and the Institute of Economics at the University of Augsburg.

Requirements

  • University degree in economics or a related field (Master's or equivalent, grades good to very good)
  • Knowledge of R and/or Stata, environmental economics, econometrics, microeconomics, and behavioral economics
  • Interdisciplinary experience, work style, and mindset
  • Experience in scientific and/or applied project work is an advantage
  • Interest in pursuing a doctorate, in ecological and social issues in urban areas, and in collaborating with other disciplines and practitioners
  • Ability to work in a team, take initiative, and work independently
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
