TU Dresden DAAD BIDS Scholarship 2026

As part of the DAAD-funded BIDS program at TU Dresden, graduates of German schools abroad (DAS/DSD/DPS schools) in the following countries can apply for an undergraduate scholarship.

Benefits

  • €450 per month for 12 months, i.e. from October 2026 until September 2027

Requirements

  • School-leaving qualification: IB / GIB / German Abitur / secondary school-leaving certificate (direct university entrance qualification in Germany, see DAAD admission database, according to the evaluation proposals of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany)
  • Application for an undergraduate degree program (Bachelor’s, Diplom or State Examination) at TU Dresden, preferred in a STEM disciplines with open admission (however, other degree programs are not excluded from funding)
  • Average grade (final grade/Abitur grade) at least 2.5
  • Applicants with German citizenship are not eligible for a BIDS scholarship
  • TU Dresden welcomes all applications, regardless of gender, ethnic and social background, family educational background, or health impairments. The information provided in the letter of motivation regarding these characteristics will be taken into account during the selection process.

Prerequisite for the awarding of the BIDS scholarship

  • To receive the scholarship, applicants must have been admitted to TU Dresden for an undergraduate degree program (Bachelor’s, Diplom or State Exam). However, the applicant need not yet be admitted to TU Dresden at the time of application. Application Documents

  • Application for a DAAD BIDS scholarship 2026/2027
  • Letter of motivation with date and signature (stating your motivation for studying at TU Dresden and your career goals)
  • Secondary school diploma with overview of subjects and grades  (can be submitted by July 15, 2026)
  • Proof of German language proficiency
  • Proof of admission and enrollment at TU Dresden for the 2026/27 winter semester (can be submitted by August 31, 2026)
