Benefits

  • Finding a university lecturer who is close to the subject and local area for mentoring
  • Support of the mentoring relationship by the DUS    
  • Seminars on the development of key competencies (twice a year, mandatory) on the following topics:  
    • Mentoring as an opportunity and a task
    • Self- and learning management   
    • Presentation training
    • Application training  
    • Business etiquette and communication   
    • Conflict management
  • One personal one-on-one coaching session with a professional coach during your studies
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses for seminars and other trips related to TANDEM  
  • Participation in scientific events (e.g. DHV Symposium) and integration into networks  
  • Provision of an annual call-off budget per scholarship holder for study-related costs
  • Digital package for the purchase of digital technology, once per scholarship  

Requirements

  • Start of studies in winter semester 2025/26
  • Parents without academic qualifications
  • Placement in a Bachelor’s degree program at a German university or college (excluding dual and private universities) or
  • Study place in a state examination program at a German university or college (excluding dual and private universities). The TANDEM scholarship program is not aimed at Master's students
  • Volunteering
  • Abitur/university entrance qualification at least good

Please send your application with

  • a letter of motivation (max. one page) in which you explain your expectations of the scholarship
  • a CV in tabular form (max. 2 pages)
  • the Abitur or university entrance qualification certificate
  • Letter of admission or certificate of enrollment
