Requirements
Scholarship is open to students from all over the world who meet the following criteria:
- You apply for The Expatrio Value Package by September 30th 2026.
- You will start your studies in the Winter Semester 2026.
- You will arrive in Germany and activate your Blocked Account and Health Insurance with Expatrio by October 31st 2026.
Video submission guidelines:
- Your video answers the above question in either English or German or is recorded in another language with English or German subtitles.
- Your video is no longer than 2 minutes, is in mp4 format, and does not include any copyrighted content.
- Deadline for submitting your video is September 30th 2026.
Selection Process
Expatrio want to see your personality shine through and inspire us. This is your chance to submit a video that showcases your talent and drive.
Here are some key aspects we will look out for:
- Creative and original. We value fresh ideas. Think outside the box.
- Clearly answers the question asked.
- While high-quality videos will be recognized, Expatrio understand not everyone has access to equipment or skills. Your submission will still be considered fairly and won't be judged solely on production quality.
You will not be judged on age, nationality, your academic background or any other similar demographics.
Before the end of 2026, Expatrio will announce the winners of The Expatrio Scholarship. You will be informed by email, and we will also announce it on our social media channels.

How does The Expatrio Scholarship work? It's easy!
- Submit a max. 2 minute video via our application form answering the following question: What inspired you to choose Germany for your future?
- Show us your passion. Everyone has a fair chance, regardless of video quality or editing skills.
- Prefer to do the video in your own language? No problem! Your video can be in any language as long as you use English or German subtitles.
- Creativity counts. We value passion, originality, and fresh ideas. Think outside the box!
- The top Scholarship winner will receive a massive €15,000, second place will receive €12,000, and third place will receive €9,000. Many more prizes for fourth to tenth place winners.
- Winners will receive their Scholarship money after they have activated their Blocked Account and Health Insurance with Expatrio.
- Please note: The Scholarship cannot be used to fund your Blocked Account. The prizes will be awarded only after you have arrived in Germany.
