Even more than 35 years after the fall of the "Iron Curtain" and more than 20 years after the accession of a large number of Central, Southeastern, and Eastern European countries to the European Union, the newly created opportunities for cross-border encounters and cooperation are being utilized far less than would be desirable for a united, peaceful, and strong Europe. The "Metropolises in Central, Southeastern, and Eastern Europe" scholarship program is therefore aimed at German students who are seeking a study-related stay in this region and would like to learn the local language in the process. It connects current and former scholarship recipients in the region and promotes their exchange of experience and knowledge.
If you are interested in the Metropolitan Programme but are not a German citizen, you can find out here whether you meet the formal application requirements.
Please submit the completed application form (DOC, 0.1 MB) including all other application documents as a PDF attachment by email to [email protected].
