Requirements
- International students and doctoral candidates enrolled at the University of Oldenburg who will successfully complete their degree programmes within the next year (specifically, Bildungsausländer*innen, international students who gained their matriculation qualification outside of Germany). Language course participants, exchange students, part-time students and international students who also have German citizenship are not eligible for STIBET funding.
- Good performance in degree programme/good progress with doctoral project
- Financial need
- Active involvement in society and/or in university politics is desired
- Residence permit valid for the purpose of studying for a degree or completing a doctorate. This usually means a permit granted pursuant to Section 16 Residence Act (AufenthG) for “residence for educational purposes”.
Selection Process
- Step 1: Complete the online application form and send it off.
- Step 2: Upload your application documents to the university’s cloud storage system.
- Step 3: Reference by email from a lecturer: In addition to the above-mentioned documents, we require a reference letter from the supervisor of your thesis or doctorate or a lecturer from your degree programme. The report must be sent by email to [email protected] by the author.

- Further evidence depending on the scholarship (e.g. registration of the thesis with the examination office, evidence of any special challenges)
