Requirements
- completed scientific university degree in mathematics or a related field with excellent grades and completed doctorate in mathematics or a related field
- in-depth knowledge of a subfield of optimization, such as optimization with partial differential equations, nonsmooth optimization, and/or discrete/continuous optimization, is required
- references to machine learning are desirable
- several years of independent research experience in the field of optimization, either domestically or abroad
- relevant publication experience in internationally peer-reviewed journals
- experience in supervising and mentoring scientific staff
- very good written and spoken German and English skills (at least B2)
- experience in acquiring third-party funding is an advantage
