The university is seeking a responsible, motivated and committed individual for the Social-Ecological Systems Institute.

Your tasks:

  • Collection of acoustic data for the monitoring of birds and amphibians on the Malay Peninsula
  • Analysis of the collected data, including acoustic indices and the identification of individual species
  • Publication of the results in scientific journals
  • Writing a dissertation based on the findings.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., ecology)
  • Experience in collecting acoustic data for monitoring birds and amphibians (e.g., as part of a master's thesis)
  • Knowledge of various ecosystems on the Malay Peninsula, including durian plantations
  • Knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia is desirable in order to communicate with local stakeholders.
