The University of Augsburg is seeking to fill a Research Associate at Postdoc Level position, Faculty of Applied Computer Science as soon as possible for the Augsburg Bioinformatics Core Facility (ABC) with a focus on single-cell data analysis and scientific support of biomedical research projects.
The successful candidate will work closely as a research associate with the management of the ABC as well as other internationally renowned female scientists, faculty members, clinical researchers, and bioinformaticians. A particular focus will be on the integration of single-cell and multi-omics data into translational research projects.

Requirements
- Completed doctoral studies (PhD) in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, data science or a related field.
- Proven expertise in the analysis of single-cell sequencing data.
- Solid programming skills, preferably in Python and/or R, as well as experience with established bioinformatics tools and frameworks.
- Experience with workflow management systems (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow) and controlled software environments (e.g., Docker, Singularity, Conda).
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration, especially at the interface between medicine, biology and computer science.
- Experience in handling HPC environments and large datasets.
- Independent, reliable and service-oriented work style within a core facility structure.
- Excellent English skills; basic knowledge of German is required.
