The Institute of Virology and Cell Biology at the University of Luebeck (Director: Univ.-Prof. Dr. N. Tautz) is seeking for a PhD student at the nearest possible time with a working time of 65% of the regular weekly hours (currently 25.16 hours per week), limited for 3.5 years. The position is intended to lead to a PhD.

Requirements

  • University master's degree in biology, molecular life sciences, biochemistry or a related field
  • ability to work independently in a team
  • high level of commitment
  • expertise in basic molecular biology and biochemical techniques
  • Practical experience in working with proteins and knowledge of protein expression/purification as well as virology of plus-strand RNA viruses are advantageous.
