The PhD project on the topic of "Entanglement-based quantum communication systems” within "Research Group 4.56 “Metrology for Quantum Communication” is part of the Cluster of Excellence QuantumFrontiers and is carried out in close collaboration with Technische Universität Braunschweig and Leibniz Universität Hannover.

Requirements
- Completed university degree (Diploma/Master’s) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field
- Practical experience in one or more of the following areas: quantum optics, implementation of QKD protocols, characterisation of QKD components, or quantum networks
- Experience with laboratory automation and data analysis (e.g., Python or Matlab)
- Strong experimental skills
- Excellent scientific writing abilities
- An independent, structured, and goal-oriented approach to research
- High level of motivation and ownership of your work
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- English proficiency at C1 level; German skills are an advantage
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
