The Institute for Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is looking to fill the position of a PhD Student. The lab works in the areas of bioorganic chemistry and chemical biology focusing on the design of peptido- and proteomimetics.
The prospective candidate will perform chemical protein engineering involving the design and synthesis of protein-reactive molecules. These will be used to covalently modify proteins which will be investigated using various biophysical methods.

Requirements
- hold or will hold a Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related areas,
- have experience in the expression, purification and characterization of proteins,
- have experience in organic synthesis,
- have experience in the characterization of post-translational modifications,
- have experience in protein crystallization and structure determination,
- have very good communication skills in written and spoken English,
- have very good communication skills in German to support teaching,
- are creative, and curious in acquiring new techniques.
