The University Hospital of Cologne offers a clinically oriented doctoral position at the interface of neurology and clinical neuropsychology (with the option, if desired, to qualify as a clinical neuropsychologist according to the German Neuropsychological Society (GNP) guidelines).

Your tasks

  • Development and psychometric validation of neuropsychiatric screening instruments
  • Collection of neuropsychological and neuropsychiatric data within the framework of structured clinical examinations
  • Participation in multi-professional team meetings
  • Statistical analysis, data management and interpretation of newly acquired and existing datasets
  • Preparation of scientific publications and presentations

Requirements

  • Completed university degree in psychology/psychotherapy (diploma or master's degree)

  • Interest in neuropsychiatric symptoms of neurological diseases

  • Motivation to work with geriatric/neurological patients

  • Prior experience in neuropsychological diagnostics is desirable.

  • Proficient English skills for presenting scientific results and creating scientific publications

  • Experience in conducting statistical analyses (SPSS or R); knowledge of programming languages ??such as MATLAB is desirable, but not a requirement.

  • Knowledge of test theory and questionnaire construction is desirable.

  • Teamwork skills, a sense of responsibility, a structured work style, and enjoyment of interdisciplinary work.

  • Excellent German skills, both spoken and written.
