Requirements

  • M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, or a related area.
  • Research experience in molecular cloning, protein expression and purification, biophysics, cell biology, and microbiology.
  • Experience in confocal fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy techniques (FCS, FLIM, time-resolved anisotropy, FRET).
  • Experience in membrane biology desirable.
  • Experience in working with BSL2 pathogens desirable.
  • Strong motivation to carry out and troubleshoot a scientific project and establish high-end imaging and spectroscopy techniques in the lab.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse, international team.
  • Willingness to supervise Bachelor and Master students in the lab and in practical courses the institute offers.
  • Proactive, creative, reliable, and responsible character.
  • Solution-oriented working attitude.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Fluent in spoken German desirable.
