An exciting opportunity awaits you at the Chair of Production Management (Prof. Dr. Florian Sahling) at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, We are looking for a research assistant (m/f/d) with the goal of obtaining a doctorate.
We actively conduct research at the intersection of operations research, business analytics, and sustainable production and supply chain management. Our goal is to develop innovative, data- and AI-driven methods that efficiently solve complex planning problems and create real added value. This is particularly relevant in an era where sustainability and intelligent digital solutions play a central role.
Your responsibilities include:
- Actively participate in research, teaching, and academic self-governance, and contribute to shaping the daily life of the chair in terms of content and organization.
What you can expect:
- Independent work on exciting research projects
- Close collaboration with interdisciplinary research teams
- Participation in and support of courses
- Supervision and support of seminar papers, projects, and theses
- Support with organizational and administrative tasks within the chair. Pursuing a doctorate within the scope of this position is expressly desired and actively supported. Your research will be published in scientific journals and will strengthen your academic profile.

Requirements
Our requirements profile:
- You have completed your university studies with very good grades in a quantitative degree program, e.g., industrial engineering, (business) informatics, (business) mathematics or business administration/economics with a focus on operations management, operations research or logistics, or you are about to graduate.
Your profile:
- Solid knowledge of production, logistics, and operations research
- Experience with modeling languages ??and programming skills
- Excellent German and English language skills
- A structured, independent work style, high reliability, and team spirit
