The Faculty of Business Studies and Economics at the University of Bremen is currently inviting applications for up to eight PhD positions starting October 1, 2026 to co-operate with established professors at the Faculty in the Diginomics Research Group (particularly Prof. Dr. Julia Kensbock, Prof. Dr. Kristina Klein, Prof. Dr. Benjamin Müller, Prof. Dr. Tobias Röth).

Requirements

  • An above average university degree at the master level (normally, a total of 300 credit points including bachelor studies) in economics, business administration, information systems, psychology or a related subject. Applicants who are in the final phase of their master's degree program will also be considered. Please note that the master's degree certificate must be submitted in order to be hired.

  • For higher education qualifications obtained outside the EU, please submit the German translation and the assessment of the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). Alternatively, please send us a PDF excerpt from the database for the recognition and evaluation of foreign educational certificates (ANABIN).

  • For professional qualifications obtained outside Germany, please send the German translation and the recognition in Germany. Information on this can be found at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).

  • Confident command of the /English/  language in spoken and written form (CEF level C2, minimum C1)
  • German skills are a plus.
  • Skills in quantitative or qualitative empirical methods and software packages (e.g., Python, Stata, Matlab, R, MAXQDA)
  • Communication skills, team orientation, independent working style and scientific curiosity.
