The Kuenneth Group (Computational Materials Sciences) is looking for a research assistant / PhD student for an EU Horizon Europe research project on the use of AI for the design of sustainable polymer materials for electronics and packaging.
Your tasks
- Managing the extraction, curation, and structuring of data to support the training of machine learning models.
- Development and implementation of machine learning models, large language models (LLMs) and autonomous AI agents specifically tailored to polymer research.
- Merging machine learning and experimental workflows
- Conducting autonomous research in a dynamic and creative scientific environment

Requirements
- Above-average Master's degree in engineering, computer science, natural sciences or related fields
- Strong programming skills in Python are required.
- Knowledge of polymer and materials science
- Curiosity for materials and data science, as well as creativity and independence.
- Motivation and proactivity, with good communication skills in English or German
