An internship in the area of ??system control in the charging system of the next generation of BEVs and PHEVs at Mercedes-Benz.

Your tasks:

  • System development: You assist in the development of charging systems for electric vehicles
    • This includes support in defining system requirements and ensuring compatibility with other vehicle systems
  • Project management: You will support the management of charging system development projects, including time and resource planning, budget monitoring, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Technical analysis and problem solving: You will help carry out technical analyses to identify and solve problems in the charging system
    • This also includes troubleshooting and error correction as well as continuous improvement of system performance
  • Testing and validation: You will assist in the planning and implementation of tests to validate the charging systems
  • This includes both laboratory tests and field tests under real conditions
  • Documentation and reporting: You support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Automated monitoring: You will contribute to the automation of data analyses, such as a dashboard prototype with Power BI, also using an in-house AI

Requirements

  • Studies: You are an enrolled student (m/f/d) in a technical or business-related field of study, e.g. electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable field of study
  • Technical knowledge: You are automotive-savvy and interested in charging systems for battery-electric vehicles
  • Systems Engineering: You are interested in applying systems engineering principles to the development of complex systems, including requirements management, system architecture, modeling, and simulation
  • Project management: You have basic skills in project management, including planning, monitoring and controlling projects
  • Communication: You have excellent communication skills to work effectively with various stakeholders
  • Problem-solving skills: You are characterized by the ability to systematically analyze and solve technical problems
  • Language skills: You have a good command of German and English, both written and spoken
  • IT skills: You are confident in using MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel) and ideally have experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Python, Matlab and Power BI
  • Personal skills: You are characterized by a high level of initiative, an analytical mindset and, above all, your passion for electromobility
  • Varied tasks: New challenges every day and plenty of variety in the areas of project management and charging
