Master's thesis - Mechanical stability of lightweight silicon heterojunction solar modules 2025

The result of the project will be a world first from the Rhineland: the solar roof lightweight building.

Your tasks:

  • Development of concepts for lightweight solar modules and production of these modules
  • Systematic development of fastening concepts for lightweight solar modules
  • Adaptation of solar modules to the mechanical load profiles
  • Investigation of the long-term stability of lightweight solar modules
  • Simulation of the mechanical stress within the solar cells

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, materials science or a comparable field
  • Experience in materials processing and analysis
  • Basic experience with CAD and programming software for data analysis
  • Ability to work independently
  • Enjoyment in developing new processes
  • Teamwork
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English
