Master's thesis - Electrical connection concepts for lightweight silicon heterojunction solar modules

The Light.P.Roof project aims to combine highly efficient lightweight solar modules and textile architecture using an integrated mounting technology to open up previously unused roof areas for photovoltaics.

Your tasks:

  • Development of concepts for lightweight solar modules and production of these modules
  • Development of concepts for the connection of solar cells within solar modules to increase mechanical and electrical stability and production of modules with this connection
  • Testing new connection concepts such as laser connection or connection with electrically conductive adhesive tape
  • Characterization of the electrical properties of the new solar module concepts
  • Simulation of the electrical and optical properties of solar modules

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, materials science or a comparable field
  • Experience in materials processing and analysis
  • Basic experience with programming software for data analysis
  • Ability to work independently
  • Enjoyment in developing new processes
  • Teamwork
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English
