HTW Dresden ESF-PLUS Doctoral Scholarships 2026

The HTW Dresden Doctoral Funding Programme (Promotionsförderung) supports researchers interested in pursuing a cooperative PhD at Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Dresden (HTW Dresden). The programme is particularly focused on doctoral research that contributes to a stable, green, sustainable and digital economy in the German state of Saxony.

Benefits

• The scholarship recipients receive a monthly stipend of €1,500 for a period of three years
• As well as a family allowance of €100 per child, if applicable. Funding ends no later than the month in which the dissertation is submitted.
• In addition, HTW Dresden supports the doctoral project with a grant of €1,500 for travel and material costs over the three-year funding period.

Requirements

• The applicant must be accepted as a doctoral candidate at a faculty of the Dresden University of Applied Sciences (HTWD) in accordance with Section 41 of the Saxon Higher Education Act (SächHSG).
• The corresponding documentation must be submitted to the granting authority no later than the start of the funding period.
• Furthermore, a qualification agreement (form will be provided) and proof of enrollment at the HTWD must be submitted.

• Applicants from all disciplines are eligible to apply for doctoral studies, including current doctoral candidates.

Selection Process

• The selection is made by the PFT. In particular, originality, topicality, practical relevance, and planned follow-up activities are taken into account during the evaluation.

3. Graduation certificate that qualifies for doctoral studies

4. Letter of support from the supervisor at HTWD, and – if applicable – letter of support from the supervisor at the doctoral program institution (form)

5. When applying for child allowance: proof of existing parent-child relationship and a declaration that the child does not live temporarily in the same household as the recipient of the allowance.

6. Declarations on data protection and the exclusion of double funding (form)
