Hochschule Bielefeld Ausschreibung Engagement Stipendien 2025

These scholarships are sponsored by the Böllhoff family, supported by internal quality improvement funds of the university. The Bielefeld-based company Böllhoff is a globally recognised provider of technologies, services, and fastening, assembly, and system solutions. Since 2022, Michael Böllhoff has provided annual scholarships aimed at talented international HSBI students who have an interest in his company.

The scholarships are awarded to candidates who demonstrate strong academic performance or exceptional commitment in an international or social context.

Requirements

  • Foreign citizenship
  • Higher education entrance qualification obtained abroad
  • Regular enrollment at HSBI in the winter semester 2025/2026
  • Strong academic performance compared to fellow students
  • Social/cultural engagement or membership in a non-profit organisation

Interview Dates and Process

The selection of scholarship recipients is carried out by a commission that includes representatives from the International Office, the student council (AStA), and a representative from the Equal Opportunity Office. If you are a suitable scholarship candidate, you will be invited to an individual 10-minute interview on 27 August. The scholarship award ceremony will take place on 13 October 2025.

Selection Procedure Based on a points system with a maximum of 100 points, up to 70 points can be awarded for strong academic performance (in comparison to the average grade in the applicant’s study programme). A relative grade is calculated and compared to the grades of other applicants. An additional 30 points can be awarded for cultural and social engagement. 

  • Verified engagement of at least 1 year: : 10 Points
  • Multiple or long-term engagement (≥2 years): 20 Points
  • Multiple and long-term engagement (≥2 years): 30 Points

  • Current transcript of records (can be submitted by 31 July 2025)
  • Proof of engagement or membership in a nonprofit organisation
