German and international students from any discipline and higher education institution are invited to apply for the scholarship by the Foundation, which is closely associated with the German Green Party. Candidates are sympathetic to the goals of the "green" political movement, they have excellent school grades and academic standing and are socially and politically involved. They are tomorrow's experts and leaders, prepared to take responsibility and advocate the Foundation's green ideals in an international context: ecology and sustainability, democracy and human rights, self determination and justice.

Requirements
The following are eligible to apply until September 1, 2025:
- Students from Germany (Germans and those with a higher education entrance qualification, i.e., applicants who obtained their higher education entrance qualification in Germany)
- For a first degree program (Bachelor's, Diplom, State Examination, etc.): Applications are possible before the first semester up to and including the third semester.
- For a Master's program, preferably in Germany: Applications must be submitted six months before the start of the program.
- Refugees
- Applications for funding for a first degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree) or a postgraduate degree (Master's degree, Diploma, or State Examination, etc.) are possible at any time, regardless of the semester of study.
- International students ("Austrian students with foreign nationality," i.e., applicants who obtained their university entrance qualification abroad)
- For a Master's degree or for a Diploma/State Examination degree program in Germany (after having already completed the intermediate examination, Physikum, etc.): Applications are possible before beginning the Master's degree or before beginning the main study program. We particularly encourage international students who completed their first degree in their country of origin to apply.
Students from all disciplines are eligible to apply for full-time study at a state-recognized university.

- After uploading all of your documents, submit your application before the end of the application deadline
Please note: We only accept online applications. The application portal will be opened about 6 weeks before the application deadline.
The online application portal opens on July 15, 2025, and closes on September 1, 2025. The certificate of enrollment, or at least a confirmation of university admission, must be submitted with the application if possible, or at the latest immediately before the selection interview in the third selection stage. Please use only Adobe Acrobat Reader to complete the application form. Space is limited. Please limit your application to the designated section, which must be legible on paper. This also applies to the expert opinions. Please do not wait until the last day to submit your application to avoid overloading the system. You can submit your application as soon as your documents are complete.
