Requirements

You meet the requirements for our scholarship if you can confirm all of the following points in the funding program relevant to you with YES.

Interview Dates and Process

Based on the submitted application documents, the Institute for the Promotion of Gifted Students will make a pre-selection (see “ Who we are looking for ”) according to the following criteria:

  • above-average school and academic performance
  • Involvement in political, church or social environments
  • personal suitability.

Applicants deemed suitable will be invited to a two-day selection meeting where they will be examined by an independent selection committee.

The selection process begins with a written exam , which includes a test of general political knowledge and a reasoned statement on a current socially relevant topic.

In a group discussion , applicants can demonstrate their ability to responsibly discuss a sociopolitical issue. In addition to the ability to reason logically, the selection committee also assesses their communication skills.

The selection process also includes a one-on-one interview of approximately 45 minutes. This begins with a short presentation of up to seven minutes on their own social commitment. This is followed by an exchange about professional interests, personal interests, motivation, and current topics.

If accepted , the scholarship holders will generally be supported until they reach the maximum funding period under BAföG .

Important dates for the application process for the winter semester 2025/26:

  • The selection meetings for the trainees will take place on July 19 and 26 in Munich.
  • The selection meetings for the scholarship program will take place from September 26 to 28 and October 3 to 5 at the Banz Monastery Education Center.
  • The selection meeting for doctoral funding will take place on September 25-26 in Munich.
