BMW Intern in Commodity Price and Risk Management 2025

You will support the BMW Group's raw material price and risk management in reducing risks associated with market price fluctuations and raw material availability while ensuring optimal sustainability. You will participate in a cross-functional approach in collaboration with purchasing, finance, and research and development. This will open up a cutting-edge internship environment with interesting and important prospects for the company.

What awaits you?

  • You support the identification of raw material price risks in purchasing.
  • You will contribute to developing transparency on global market price risks, such as assessing the impact of inventory levels in LME warehouses on region-specific market prices.
  • You will also monitor the influence of currency effects on commodity price developments.
  • You will contribute to the development and implementation of risk reduction strategies and the coordination of cross-company initiatives in raw material management.
  • You will assist in advising buyers on how to deal with raw material price and supply risks.
  • You will support the further development of raw material management processes, including digitalization.
  • In addition, you support the exchange with associations and research institutions.

Requirements

  • Studies in economics (business administration, economics or similar), industrial engineering, raw materials engineering, plastics technology or a comparable qualification.
  • Interest in technical contexts or very good technical understanding.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent numerical understanding.
  • Ideally, Excel and programming skills.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills.
  • Fluent German and English skills.
