  • The scholarships of the Berlin House of Representatives' Foundation are awarded to recent university graduates and students with at least one degree (BA or equivalent) from all disciplines, particularly the humanities and social sciences, whose research and study projects have a thematic or institutional connection to Berlin. The scholarships are valid for academic training at all state and state-recognized universities and research institutions in Berlin.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants for a scholarship from the German House of Representatives' Foundation for Academic Studies must be among the top-performing young academics in their country, meaning they must be clearly above average in their qualifications.

  • Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit.

  • The maximum age is generally 35. Students should have completed their first degree (Bachelor's) by the age of 25.

  • Applicants who have not been engaged in academic work in their home country for an extended period after graduation cannot be considered.
  • The Foundation expects applicants to submit a detailed research plan with their application. They must also submit a letter of support from a university professor or the head of a research institution in Berlin. This letter must be included with the application materials. For students who have not yet completed their degree, a letter of support is not a mandatory requirement. However, the Foundation expects these applicants to also strive to obtain one.
