- Intern (d/f/m) within Structural Repair Manual - Automation & Digitalisation

- Start: as soon as possible
- Duration: 6 months
You will join the SRM Subdomain (1SAS), a transnational organization (Toulouse, Hamburg, Filton, Bremen and Getafe) responsible for the creation of all structure repair manuals. We provide airlines with the necessary information to manage autonomously up to 70% of damages on the structural parts that occurred in-service.
Your internship will consist of contributing to a project aiming at automating some of the activities to produce the Structural Repair Manual.
Ideally, this is a 6 months internship.
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Assist in the digitalization of documents and further data (e.g. text files)
- Develop and implement machine learning models for automated searching and analysis of documents.
- Extract relevant information from documents / data and transfer it into structured and searchable databases.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand and implement the requirements and specifications for data extraction.
- Document the work performed and the results achieved.
- Bring in your curiosity and knowledge, as well as to connect with knowledge owners in the company, to develop and possibly implement a concept for this task.

- Are you wondering how you actually get from university to Airbus? Your working student position is at the Finkenwerder plant and you can take the ferry from Teufelsbrück to the Airbus ferry terminal and back to the university in the morning and at noon. Alternatively, you can take the ferry to Finkenwerder and then ride your bike for about another 15 minutes to the main entrance.

Requirements
- Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in a degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of machine learning and experience with related tools and frameworks.
- Programming experience, preferably in Python.
- Familiarity with databases and SQL.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Independent and structured working style.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Interest in the digitalization and automation of business processes.
- Fluent English is required
