The University Hospital Würzburg is seeking a highly motivated individual at the senior postdoctoral level to strengthen the translational research activities in the field of neuro-oncological and solid malignancies, starting as soon as possible . The position is embedded in an interdisciplinary research environment within the Department of Neurosurgery (Experimental Neurosurgery).
Your responsibilities
- Independent conception, execution and evaluation of innovative research projects (cell and molecular biology)
- Further development of experimental platforms (e.g., CRISPR-based approaches, metal/metabolism analysis, imaging)
- Integration of multi-modal data and interpretation in a translational context (tumor ↔ nervous system)
- Publication in international journals and presentation at conferences
- Mentoring/supervision of students and doctoral candidates as well as active participation in shaping laboratory and project structures (senior role)

Requirements
- Completed doctorate (Dr. rer. nat./PhD or equivalent) in Life Sciences, (Biomedicine, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related fields)
- Strong expertise in cell biology, protein biochemistry and/or molecular signal transduction (ideally related to redox/metabolism)
- Excellent organizational skills, a high degree of independence, and a passion for team-oriented, interdisciplinary research.
- Excellent English skills; experience in publishing and/or managing external funding or projects is an advantage.
