The position is located at the Chair of Mathematical Statistics, Prof. Dr. Axel Bücher. The research group offers a broad research environment in the field of mathematical statistics. Key research areas include extreme value statistics, space-time data, time series analysis, structural break analysis, functional data, and nonparametric statistics.
Participation in teaching at the Faculty of Mathematics, collaboration in research on mathematical statistics and stochastics, especially within the framework of TRR 391.
Your tasks:
- Participation in the lecture-accompanying exercises of the Faculty of Mathematics as a group leader.
- Development and mathematical investigation of new statistical methods
- Implementation of the methods in R or Python and execution of simulation studies and data applications, especially within the framework of TRR 391

Requirements
- Seeking applicants with a doctorate or a doctorate in statistics or mathematics that will be completed in the near future, with very good knowledge of stochastics and mathematical statistics.
- Good programming skills (e.g., in R or Python), experience with data modeling in the context of the energy and transport transition, and ideally knowledge of methods for extreme value statistics or statistics for copulas are desirable.
- The opportunity for further qualification (e.g. habilitation) is offered and encouraged.
