2026 Research Associate Position in Humanities at the University of Regensburg

The Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy of Childhood and Adolescence (Prof. Dr. David Kolar) at the Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Human Sciences, teaches clinical psychology and psychotherapy of childhood and adolescence in the psychology degree programs that lead to licensure as a psychotherapist. The chair's research and teaching are supported by the university's psychotherapeutic outpatient clinic for children and adolescents. Current research focuses on the mechanisms underlying and maintaining eating disorders (especially compulsive exercise), transdiagnostic psychopathological processes in the everyday lives of children and adolescents, and the development and validation of digital tools and interventions in the psychotherapy of children and adolescents (e.g., therapy feedback, network-based interventions).

Your tasks:

  • Further scientific qualification through the independent execution and development of research projects
  • Teaching activities amounting to 3 semester hours per week, including clinical teaching in the Master's program in Psychology with a focus on Biological Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy
  • Research activities in one of the professorship's scientific focus areas
  • Support in the administration of the professorship

Requirements

  • You are a PhD-level scientist who is passionate about clinical psychological research and teaching
  • They are able to participate in the research projects of the professorship in the areas of transdiagnostic processes in the everyday lives of children and adolescents and/or psychotherapy research.
  • You have successfully completed a degree in psychology or another course of study that qualifies you to obtain a license as a child and adolescent psychotherapist (Master's degree or equivalent).
  • They have a doctorate in the relevant or a comparable field.
  • You have already received your license or are well advanced in your training as a child and adolescent psychotherapist or psychological psychotherapist and possess expertise in a socially recognized procedure.
  • They have a good knowledge of the basics of clinical psychology and psychotherapy in childhood and adolescence.
