At the Institute for Functional Materials and Biofabrication (IFB), the Chair for Functional Materials in Medicine and Dentistry (Prof. Dr. Jürgen Groll) is currently offering a position with a focus on polymer synthesis that is initially limited to 2 years, full-time (100%) as a Postdoctoral researcher - Polymer Chemistry.
- Core task: Synthesis and characterization of novel polymers intended as base-materials for bioink formulations, with a focus on optimizing their printability and cytocompatibility for use in 4D bioprinting applications
- Participation in third-party funded projects, active collaboration with project partners, presentation of results at project meetings, and preparation of reports
- Supervision of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as publication of results in scientific journals and presentation at national and international conferences

Requirements
- A completed PhD or equivalent degree in chemistry with a solid background in polymer synthesis for biomedical applications (ideally in bioink development)
- Experience in scientific research, ideally in a related project
- Strong interest in applied research
- Enjoyment of working in an interdisciplinary, international, and motivated team
