The Department of Stem Cell Biology at the University Hospital Erlangen invites applications for a PhD position in a newly established research group in Bioinformatics for Multi-Omics . The PhD project is part of a BMFTR-funded research initiative applying artificial intelligence to integrate multi-omics data for biomarker discovery in Parkinson's disease (PD) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Requirements
- Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Biology, or a closely related quantitative field
- Solid programming skills in Python and/or R (experience with scientific libraries and data analysis workflows is required)
- Strong foundation in statistics and machine learning
- Prior experience with high-throughput biological data (eg, RNA-seq, proteomics, metabolomics)
- Experience with Linux/HPC environments and version control (Git) is highly desirable
- Demonstrated interest in AI-driven biomedical research and translational applications
- Ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team
- Very good English communication skills (written and spoken)
