The department at Mercedes-Benz is responsible for the software development of the Zone Controller platform (complex control units with power distribution, I/O management, gateway functionality, applications for vehicle and comfort functions, etc.) for future MB.OS vehicle architectures. In order to improve the quality of the software, the company is seeking a Master student thesis to explore the potential of LLMs in this area.
You will master these tasks:
- Parse and normalize outputs from static analysis tools (e.g., QAC, Polyspace, Coverity, PC-lint)
- Design prompt engineering strategies to classify, prioritize, and explain violations using an LLM
- Prototype an LLM-based assistant that:
- Summarize large MISRA violation reports
- Suggests compliant fixes or structured deviation justifications
- Generates audit-ready summaries for ISO 26262 evidence
- Integrate the prototype into a simple CI/CD workflow (e.g., GitLab plugin, or Python pipeline)
- Document results for both technical thesis and potential internal PoC presentation
