The Leibniz Institute of Virology is looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented candidate with a strong interest in infectious diseases in the field of virology. This position encompasses studies of virus-host interactions utilizing various cellular models, including sophisticated primary cell models and organoids, along with advanced cellular biology techniques.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field (virology, immunology, molecular and cell biology) with at least one publication as lead author in a reputable international journal.
  • Extensive experience in cell culture and molecular biology methods is expected.
  • Beneficial would be experience in RNA-based methods/ non-coding RNAs.
  • Experience in working with positive strand viruses (coronaviruses, flaviviruses at BSL3 level) and organoids would be beneficial.
  • Commitment, teamwork, strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to plan and execute experiments independently and adaptively.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Willingness to supervise students in the lab.
