2026 Doctoral Position in Immunology at the University of Konstanz

This project will focus on in vitro assays recapitulating human T cell exhaustion, a dysfunctional cell state found in chronic infection and solid tumors. To identify novel regulators in this cell differentiation pathway, we will perform pooled CRISPR screens and controlled knock-out experiments with the goal to identify novel therapeutic strategies. This project will combine several disciplines, including immunology, cell biology, genetics and molecular biology.

Your Responsibilities

• Research in the field of transcriptional regulation of human T cell exhaustion
• Conducting large scale CRISPR screens in human T cells
• Interest in acquiring new skills and knowledge
• Communicating your results by publishing research papers in  journals and conferences
• Assist in teaching and supervising BSc and MSc students

Requirements

• Master degree in Biology, Life Science, Biochemistry or similar with outstanding result
• Strong motivation and determination
• Enthusiasm for basic science and cell engineering
• Experience in immunology and cell biology is a plus
• Team player skills and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment
• Strong written and oral communications skills in English
