2026 BMW Group Intern in Software Engineering AI Innovation Management

As part of your internship, you will contribute to the development and piloting of new business models using artificial intelligence within the incubator team.

What can you expect?

  • You will assist in the design and implementation of web-based end-to-end prototypes (frontend and backend).
  • You will also contribute to the development of scalable microservices as well as REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • Furthermore, you will support the integration of large language models (e.g., GPT-5.1, Llama 4) into our tool architecture via LangChain or RAG.
  • In addition, you will contribute to the design of training and fine-tuning pipelines, as well as the testing of prompt strategies and evaluation frameworks.
  • You will support the development of data models and ETL pipelines in the BMW Cloud environment (AWS or Azure).
  • You will also contribute to the application of MLOp's best practices such as CI/CD, containers, and feature stores.
  • Furthermore, you will support close collaboration with designers to transform mock-ups into functional features.

Requirements

  • Studies in computer science, software engineering, data science, business informatics or a related field of study.
  • Strong programming skills in at least two languages, ideally Python (Flask/FastAPI) and TypeScript/JavaScript (React, Next.js).
  • Practical experience with large language models (OpenAI or LangChain).
  • Familiar with agile methods, Kanban, Git and CI/CD.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, passion for Build-Measure-Learn and willingness to support from day one.
  • Fluent in German and English; any additional language is a plus.
