2026 BMW Group Electrical Engineering Intern

The team at the BMW Group is designing the construction of the new production site for high-voltage batteries in Irlbach/Straßkirchen. During your internship, you will support the team in planning and implementing innovative solutions in facility management and building operations.

What can you expect?

  • You will support the Facility Management team in planning and implementing the factory ramp-up of media and energy supply as well as building operations at the new location.
  • You will also be part of the technical building equipment team, focusing on electrical engineering, communications engineering and building automation.
  • Furthermore, you will support a variety of tasks in facility management and in a dynamic multi-project environment with cross-functional teams.
  • In addition, you will contribute to current innovation and digitalization topics such as Lean Construction, BIM, digital commissioning process and energy management.
  • Your main place of work is Irlbach/Straßkirchen during the factory construction.
  • You will support the independent processing of tasks and receive regular feedback from your contact person.

Requirements

  • Studies in electrical or building services engineering, energy technology, building technology, facility management or a comparable engineering discipline.
  • Prior practical experience in the relevant field is desirable.
  • Analytical thinking skills and quick comprehension.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Proficient use of MS Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel; initial experience with SAP and/or CAD systems (REVIT, AutoCAD, MicroStation) is an advantage.
  • Good German skills, both spoken and written.
