The candidate will work with long-term lightcurves from the Fermi Satellite and combine them with other lightcurves from radio, optical and X-ray catalogs. It is one of the central tasks in this project to develop supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms in order to predict the continuation of the lightcurves and to identify subflares in the long-term multimessenger data.
Your tasks:
- Develop machine learning algorithms for long-term lightcurves of AGN (supervised, unsupervised)
- Predict the continuation of the lightcurves
- Identify short-term structures in the long-term lightcurves
- Help building a bridge between machine learning and astroparticle physics
- Preparation of publications of the research results
- The position comes with a teaching duty of 4 hours a week
