2025 Gender Differences in Immune Responses PhD Scholarship at University of Hamburg

The aim of this project is to close this knowledge gap by systematically and comprehensively investigating gender-specific immune responses in these clinical contexts.

Your tasks:

• Processing of human sample material (blood and tissue)
• Generation of human and murine 3D organoid cultures
• Conducting animal experiments in mouse models for autoimmune liver diseases
• Data generation and analysis: FACS, ELISA, WB, IHC, single cell and single nucleus RNAseq, spatial transcriptomics
• Evaluation and compilation of the results and their presentation at departmental, national and international meetings
• Preparation of manuscripts

Requirements

• Completed university degree in biology, biotechnology or a comparable life science
• Immunological training and previous experience in bioinformatics analyses are desirable
• High level of commitment and enjoyment of teamwork and cooperation
