The BMW Group offer you an exciting and varied master's thesis in the field of on-board power systems and simulation. Our team develops future-oriented solutions for a reliable, safe, and efficient on-board power system. As part of your thesis, you will actively participate in the development and optimization of simulation and co-simulation methods – especially for highly dynamic test cases in the vehicle environment.
What awaits you?
- You will support the research of current co-simulation methods and present their advantages and disadvantages.
- You will also be involved in the investigation of on-board network models with variable system partitioning.
- In addition, you will contribute to the development of a numerically optimized co-simulation strategy for highly dynamic processes.
- You will also support the evaluation of stability, accuracy and computing time based on relevant cases (short circuit, load shedding).
- You will contribute to the development of a transferable methodology with clear guidelines and outlook.

Requirements
- Studies in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a comparable course of study.
- Comprehensive knowledge in the field of numerical mathematics.
- Practical experience in simulating electrical circuits.
- Knowledge of simulation environments (Julia, Dymola) is desirable.
- Team and communication skills.
- Analytical thinking skills.
- Good knowledge of German and English.
