The team is responsible for the development of future battery storage systems for electric vehicles. We cover system design, storage modeling, and experimental validation. 

What can you expect?

• You conduct research on simulation methods in the field of high-voltage storage safety, with a particular focus on thermal propagation.
• The focus is on the behavior of the battery cell in the event of a fault and the effects on thermally stressed components.
• Experimental basic research into the thermal damage of plastics is also part of your responsibilities.

• Based on your experimental findings, you will develop realistic simulation models that accurately depict thermal damage.
• You quantify the robustness of the propagation stop using a subsystem model.

Requirements

• Degree in electrochemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable field of study.
• Knowledge in the field of Li-ion batteries, especially thermal safety.
• Solid knowledge in the areas of heat transfer and numerical simulation.
• Fluent German and English skills are required.
• Knowledge of Simcenter STAR-CCM+ (or other CFD software) is desirable.
